In the lecture halls of universities across the country, thousands of students are preparing for their future careers in IT. The .msg Romania team is with them to make their transition more accessible and faster.
With solid knowledge of technologies, linguistic skills, and the ability to work in a team, the profile of an IT specialist is becoming more diversified as the market evolves. Focused on their university curriculum, students should pay attention to details that can make a difference during their first job interview. For this reason, under the #msgEducates umbrella, we create courses and projects in universities nationwide to complement what the school already offers them.
In Cluj-Napoca, we have focused on learning and improving German language skills, an important competitive advantage in a market where companies like ours actively seek this ability in the candidates' resumes. In collaboration with the Institute of German Studies (IdLF) and Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB), we run a German language course dedicated to students from all years of study. The course occurs weekly in the company's offices and online.
At the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics within UBB, the Operating Systems Laboratory has combined practical work with theory, according to the faculty's curriculum. The difference from a regular course was the way the information was structured. It was made easy to understand, with analogies that make the concepts easy to remember. We have a well-prepared generation of students, young people willing to put in the effort to progress and very ingenious, says Ștefan Bartha, our colleague who taught these courses for a semester. At the same faculty, within the master's program, Răzvan Batin held a course on Cloud - AWS, where students became familiar with cutting-edge technologies and how they are applied in msg Romania's projects.
Technical University helped us host the Full Stack Web Development Bootcamp. Alexandru Luchian and Antonio Mărășescu-Duran held an extracurricular hands-on course prepared in collaboration with the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science. It proved a fantastic opportunity for the 12 participants to enhance their web development skills.
In Timișoara, we participated in Megadojo, an event where young people of all ages met with .msg Romania mentors in interactive workshops. We wanted to make new friends in Arad, so we met with students from Aurel Vlaicu University to talk about internship opportunities.
In Târgu Mureș, we organized the 3rd edition of the Java Spring Internship, where ten students had the opportunity to intensively prepare in Java technologies under the guidance of our mentors and trainers—the four weeks of training allowed the participants to lay a solid foundation for programming in both Back end and Front end. At the program's end, the students could continue their training within our Java Training program. With Sapientia University, we already have a long tradition of mentorship. We assisted the students of the Faculty of Engineering in their thesis projects and were awarded the Hack_IT team for a learning application dedicated to company employees, developed in 24 hours.
The internship marathon with .msg Romania continues even as you read this. The 51 students selected from over 900 applicants fully engage in the .msg Career Start, .msg Java Training, and SAP Summer School programs. We will soon tally the outcomes of the seven weeks of practical and theoretical courses!
